Amy Leite, franchising, employment law and business dispute resolution

I particularly enjoy the satisfaction of finding quick and straightforward solutions to clients who feel they are in a real predicament. Working within a team of lawyers who share these values and really care about the results achieved is one of the most enjoyable things about working at Aquabridge.

I also enjoy the variety of specialising in employment law, business dispute resolution and franchising – and the ability to operate on a national basis, providing advice to clients throughout the UK.

I’ve been working in the franchise industry for over 10 years and devoted a large part of my career to advising franchisees. I aim to make my advice commercially focused, solutions driven, straightforward and cost effective.

Through the review service I help franchisees understand the terms of their proposed franchise agreements, ensure they go into agreements with their eyes open and get the best possible terms.

I provide support and solutions to franchisees who are looking at their future options either at renewal or during their contract discussions. For franchisees who are unhappy or are in dispute, I guide them through misrepresentation claims, breach of contract cases, terminations, negotiated exit plans and understanding and limiting risk in relation to post-termination restrictions.

Outside franchising I also advise on corporate employment law, mainly advising employers on all legal aspects, from drafting policies, procedures, contracts and service agreements and ensuring compliance, to handling tribunal claims.

This often includes helping my clients effectively and efficiently manage dismissals, disciplinary procedures, restructuring and redundancies and handling problematic employees.
